The standard top plate caster usually consists of a mounting plate, a kingpin, an upper load race with load bearings, and a lower thrust race with thrust bearings. These components are held together with a kingpin, typically a bolt and nut or a rivet. With all of these moving parts, the kingpin is usually the first to work its way loose under industrial applications, and eventually, you may experience a caster failure.

It is constructed precisely with a mounting plate, a forged inner race, an outer race in which the legs are welded, and the ball bearings between the two parts. There is no weak point in a kingpinless caster, as everything is precisely machined, forged, and welded.
